Elaine Crosson takes Stony Brook University post
Elaine Crosson, wife of the late Matthew Crosson, a former Long Island Association president, has been appointed vice president for external relations at Stony Brook University.
After her husband died in December in Las Vegas, where he was head of the Greater Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Crosson moved back to the family's Lloyd Harbor home.
She is former general counsel at Long Island University, and "brings strong background in public and private sectors," Stony Brook University said in a news release.
Her appointment is effective Feb. 14.
The Stony Brook University president Samuel L. Stanley Jr., said in a statement that Crosson will be Stony Brook University's "primary liaison for state and federal legislative matters, and will oversee the offices of communications, community relations, governmental relations and media relations."
