Empire nominee before Senate
The State Senate is expected tomorrow to take up the appointment of Kenneth Adams to head the Empire State Development Corp.
Adams, 50, was nominated for the post in January by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. He previously led the Business Council of New York State and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
Adams lives in Brooklyn and has a second home in Hampton Bays. His grandfather, John Cranford Adams, served as Hofstra University president.
Kenneth Adams, together with Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy, have been charged by Cuomo with revamping New York’s business development programs, specifically to implement regional councils that will compete for state funding for projects.
