A decades-long fixture on Farmingdale's furniture row, Albert's Furniture Gallery, says it's going out of business before the end of the year.

Owner Albert Macanian opened the shop in 1981 and it remained at the same location, 1995 Route 110, since then.

Macanian said he's closing "due to a variety of economic and strategic reasons." He has discounted prices for the next month in anticipation of a mid-December shutdown.
