An East Farmingdale food packing company plans to close down this spring resulting in job losses for 35 workers, a state agency reported.

The 220 Smith St. company identified itself as Sabra Dipping Co, a “perishable prepared food manufacturer.” The notice was made public by the state Department of Labor.

Sabra, which makes babaganoush, hummus and other dips and spreads, did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday morning.

In the April 15 notice the company said the layoffs were the result of a “plant closing” because it is moving its operations from New York State.

Sabra is also closing its factory in Astoria, Queens, resulting in the loss of more than 100 more jobs.

After notices are given to workers beginning on June 21, they will be laid off as of July 9. The last workers will be laid off by Aug. 30 and the two factories will be closed as of mid-September at the latest.
