Free advice on reaching the global markets
Small- and medium-sized businesses interested in reaching the global market can learn how to get federal help next week at a free forum in Garden City.
Officials from the Export-Import Bank of the United States, which helps finance the export of U.S. goods and services abroad, will be on hand Monday to describe programs that help businesses find new buyers, access working capital and protect themselves again nonpayment risk.
The morning-long forum will include panel discussions from local businesses that have used the Export-Import Bank’s services and there will be one-on-one sessions with bank officials.
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy is co-sponsoring the event, which is free but requires advanced registration. The bank is currently helping 231 exporters in the state, McCarthy’s office said.
