Hillary Clinton to speak at LIA fall luncheon
Former Secretary of State and first lady Hillary Clinton will speak at the Long Island Association's biannual luncheon this fall.
As in previous LIA luncheons, Clinton will participate in a conversational discussion with LIA president Kevin Law during the event, which will be held Oct. 4 at noon at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Law, who during the LIA's board meeting Wednesday morning announced that Clinton would be speaking, said he was glad to be able to lock in the former New York senator early, considering her busy schedule.
"There will be no shortage of issues to ask her -- international, national, state, local," Law said. "She’s a New Yorker as well so it’ll cover the gamut of government politics and where America’s heading. I suspect it’ll be one of our largest events ever."
The LIA holds two luncheons for fundraising every year in the spring and fall. Typically, more high-profile guests have been featured in the fall. Past guest speakers have included former vice presidents Al Gore and Dick Cheney and former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
