JetBlue flights delayed after nationwide reservation system outage, officials say

JetBlue’s computer woes continued into the late afternoon Thursday as the company urged travelers to check with the airline before heading to the airport.
Spokeswoman Sharon A. Jones said the discount airline is moving to resolve a glitch that is causing flight delays nationwide.
“While we are working to restore all systems as quickly as possible after a Verizon data center power outage, customers are able to check in for their flight at http://checkin.jetblue.com or book travel at www.jetblue.com,” Jones said in a statement.
Flights are still departing, she said, though some may experience delays or cancellations.
“Customers traveling today will receive current flight status information from crewmembers in our airports,” she said.
A Port Authority alert said the airline is experiencing “intermittent network issues due to a data center power outage.”
Just before 3 p.m., the company tweeted that “Current flight status is being communicated by crewmembers in our airports.”
