John H. Gross of Northport has been elected president of The New York Bar Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the New York State Bar Association. He is a partner at Ingerman Smith LLP in Hauppauge.

Michael Shreck of Long Beach has been appointed to the New York State Dental Association's board of trustees, representing the Nassau County Dental Society. He is the founder and co-chair of the society's Give Kids a Smile program and owns a private dental practice in New Hyde Park.

Melissa Negrin-Wiener of Smithtown has been installed as president of Suffolk County Women's Bar Association. She is a partner at Genser Dubow Genser and Cona, an elder-law firm based in Melville.

Jeffrey M. Kimmel of Plainview, head of the medical malpractice group at the law firm of Salenger, Sack, Kimmel and Bavaro LLP in Woodbury, has been sworn in to serve on the advisory council of the Nassau Suffolk Law Services Committee.
