Thomas R. Slome of Rockville Centre, a member of Meyer, Suozzi, English and Klein PC in Garden City and chair of the firm's bankruptcy practice and co-chair of its corporate finance practice, has been elected chairman of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.

Michael Cuneo of East Northport has been appointed to the board of directors of the Financial Planning Association of Long Island. Michael is a partner at Compass Financial Group in Plainview.
