Fort Washington, PA (PRWEB) October 30, 2015

The Omnia-Prova Education Collaborative (TOPEC) today announced that Jennifer Spear Smith, PhD, has joined the organization as Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer. TOPEC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Dr. Smith will oversee all CME and CE activity planning, which includes ensuring educational activities are needs-based, scientifically rigorous, and designed for measurable outcomes.

Dr. Smith leverages extensive clinical and CME operational experience and was named an “Emerging Leader in Healthcare” by the industry publication ‘Pharmaceutical Executive’. She will report to Dik Barsamian, President of TOPEC.

“Jen adds tremendous depth to our business, drawing from her thorough knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, clinical practices, and adult learning,” said Barsamian. “She will have great opportunities to utilize her expertise in women’s health, inflammation, diabetes, HIV, oncology, and many other clinical areas.”

Dr. Smith’s experience includes executive positions with medical education providers as well as serving as Executive Director of Medical Affairs for Pfizer and Executive Director of Medical Education for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. “TOPEC is on the cutting edge of education -- from how it approaches educational design and adult learning to the technologies it uses to deliver and measure that education,” said Smith. “I am very pleased to be so warmly welcomed by a great team.”
