Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) October 26, 2015

On October 21, Pennsylvania-based McCarthy Tire Service delivered a trailer load of relief supplies to South Carolina in response to the wide-spread flooding of early October that devastated parts of the state. The load went to Christ Central Ministries in the city of Columbia, an organization that distributes food and supplies to communities in the region.

“We have service locations in Columbia and Charleston,” said John D. McCarthy, Jr., president of McCarthy Tire Service. “Our thoughts and prayers have been with our employees and customers, their families, and the citizens of South Carolina during the flooding.”

He noted, “As a family company, we understand how important it is for everyone to pull together in challenging times. We hope that our donation will help families get back in their homes as quickly as possible.”

The trailer was loaded with pallets of nonperishable items, including baby formula, breakfast bars, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, canned chicken, and cookies; personal care supplies; dry cat and dog food; and bottled water. McCarthy Tire also sent supplies critical to post-flood clean-up work - bleach, disinfecting wipes, rags, mops, and gloves.

McCarthy Tire Services has had significant growth in 2015. In May, the company acquired Commercial Truck Tire Center in Syracuse, New York. That was followed in June with the acquisition of Hartman Fleet Services, Inc., in Manassas, Virginia. In July, McCarthy Tire’s acquisition of Ragan Tire Group increased capacity at McCarthy Tire’s eight North Carolina stores, and added three service locations in South Carolina and Georgia.
