Ticked Off Music Fest, a concert dedicated to Lyme disease awareness, will come to the Hawaii in two events: Jan. 23 in Oahu and Jan. 30 in Kauai in 2016

Honolulu, Hawaii (PRWEB) October 21, 2015

The first event for Ticked Off Music Fest Hawaii will take place on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at the Pikake Room in the Neil S. Blaisdell Center at 777 Ward Ave. in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Musical guests are Mike Love, authentic, roots-reggae from Oahu, and Les Stroud from the "Survivorman" TV series. Also appearing will be Melissa Cox (lead singer of Mythica who sings Celtic World Folk Rock from New Zealand) and Gregg Kirk from The Zen Engines.

Keynote speaker will be "Out of the Woods" author Katina Makris who will be promoting her new book "Autoimmune Illness & Lyme Disease Recovery Guide -- Mending the Body, Mind & Spirit."

“While there have been no known reported cases of patients contracting Lyme disease or other tick-borne illnesses as a result of a tick bite on any of the Hawaiian islands, thousands of islanders have been infected elsewhere and have come home to find very limited options in the way of treatment, knowledge and awareness of the diseases in Hawaii,” says festival found Gregg Kirk. “The purpose of these special festivals will be to raise awareness and educate the local population on treatment protocols and other options toward healing.”

The second event will take place one week later in conjunction with the Kauai Wellness Expo at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Center at 4191 Hardy St. in Lihue, Kauai on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.

Featured musical guests will be Melissa Cox and Gregg Kirk, and Katina Makris will speak about healing protocols and options to mend the mind, body & spirit.

Proceeds from both events will go to a patient fund being developed by the Ticked Off Foundation, a sister organization of the Ticked Off Music Fest that is a 501(c)3 entity raising funds and providing relief for Lyme and tick-borne disease patients who are struggling with money and resources due to chronic illness.
