Recent store openings on LI
Hobby Lobby
Hobby Lobby will open a second Long Island location in Bay Shore in early 2018, according to the company. The chain, which has a location in Commack, will be opening in a former Pathmark store that has been vacant since 2015.
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace
Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace is opening its sixth Long Island location, in Melville, on Dec. 1, 2017, taking the place of a former Waldbaum's. The Farmingdale-based chain has stores in East Meadow, Port Jefferson Station, Port Washington, Massapequa and Smithtown, as well as one in New Jersey.
Ocean State Job Lot
Ocean State Job Lot opened its third Long Island location in November 2017, in a former Bob's Stores location in East Northport. The Rhode Island-based retailer also has locations in Centereach and North Babylon.
Newbury Comics
Newbury Comics, the retailer of comic books, music, movies and other pop-culture items that was founded in Boston in 1978, opened a location at Smith Haven mall in Lake Grove in November 2017. Its first location outside New England opened at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in August 2016.
Dollar General
Dollar General, a Tennessee-based discount retailer, opened its first three stores on Long Island, with locations in Patchogue (pictured) and Lindenhurst opening in October 2017, and one in Shirley in November 2017.
Calzedonia
Calzedonia, an Italian legwear and beachwear retailer, opened its second location on Long Island at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove in October 2017. It also operates a location at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City.
Intimissimi
Intimissimi, which also has a location at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station, opened its second store on Long Island at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove in October 2017. The Italian retailer specializes in lingerie.
Everafter / Westside Shop
Everafter, a kids boutique for children ages 4 to 14, opened its third location at Greenvale's Wheatley Plaza in October 2017. The company also opened its first The Westside shop in the same location, with California-inspired men's and women's clothing.
Target
Target opened a small-market store in Port Washington on Oct. 18, 2017. The location will be the chain's 25th on Long Island, and replaces a King Kullen that closed in 2015.
Apple Store
The Apple Store in Lake Grove, which originally opened in 2006, moved to a location next door in Smith Haven mall on Sept. 22, 2017.
H&M
Swedish clothing retailer H & M is reopening its Massapequa location in Westfield Sunrise on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, adding 8,000 square feet over the old location, according to the company. The retailer also has five locations on Long Island -- in Garden City, Hicksville, Lake Grove, Riverhead and Valley Stream -- and 494 locations across the country.
Barami
Fashion retailer Barami, started by three sisters from Great Neck, is opening a location in Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in September 2017. The retailer also has locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Deer Park, according to its website.
Glowgolf Mini Golf
Glowgolf Mini Golf opened in September 2017 at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, and the indoor mini-golf chain also has another location on Long Island at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City.
Stop & Shop
A Stop & Shop is moving into a former Foodtown store in Rocky Point off Route 25A in September 2017.
Stew Leonard's
Connecticut-based grocer Stew Leonard's, which opened a location in Farmingdale in January 2016, opened a store in East Meadow on Aug. 23, 2017.
Energy Fitness
Energy Fitness, a Long Island-based fitness chain with three other locations in Suffolk County, opened a new facility in Huntington in July 2017.
L.L. Bean
L.L. Bean, the Maine-based retailer, opened its first full-fledged Long Island store on June 23, 2017 at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove. It previously opened a kiosk within the mall in October 2016.
adidas
The clothing and shoe manufacturer adidas opened a store at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station on May 18, 2017. The German company also has a store at Roosevelt Field in Garden City and an outlet store at Deer Park.
QuickChek
Convenience store chain QuickChek opened its second Long Island location on May 2, 2017, in Bethpage at Hempstead Turnpike and Hicksville Road. The convenience store also features six gasoline pumps.
Dick's Sporting Goods
Dick's Sporting Goods opened two new Long Island locations on April 21, 2017 -- this one in the Westfield Sunrise in Massapequa, and another at the former Sears location in the Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore.
Calzedonia
While the Italian leg wear and beachwear brand Calzedonia has 4,200 locations in more than 45 countries, it opened its first U.S. location at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in April 2017.
New Balance Factory Store
A New Balance Factory Store opened at Tanger Outlets in Riverhead in April 2017 at the site of the former Reebok Outlet location.
Tesla
Want to check out a car while you're at the Walt Whitman Shops mall in Melville? Tesla opened what it calls a gallery in February 2017 for shoppers to check out the vehicles on site. It's the second site on Long Island; the other is in Manhasset.
Pure Mammography
Medical Arts Radiology opened a mammography screening center at the Smith Haven mall in Lake Grove in February 2017, the first screening site the diagnostic imaging group has opened inside a mall.
Planet Fitness
New Hampshire-based Planet Fitness opened what it calls its largest location on Long Island in Hauppauge on Dec. 30, 2016. Pictured is a shot from the chain's Wall Street location.
Cotton On
Australian retailer Cotton On opened a third Long Island location, with a store at Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore. The chain also has locations at Smith Haven mall in Lake Grove and Roosevelt Field in Garden City, which is the location pictured above.
Chanel
A retail store from the famous French fashion line, Chanel, opened in December 2016 at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City. This Chanel store is in London.
24 Hour Fitness
24 Hour Fitness, a California-based fitness chain, opened a new center in Valley Stream on Dec. 17, 2016. Pictured is a shot of one of 24 Hour Fitness' San Francisco locations.
Baldinini
Italian shoe maker Baldinini opened its first New York flagship store at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City on Nov. 28, 2016. There are 100 Baldinini stores worldwide, with two others in the United States in New Jersey, Florida, and two more stores in New York State in New York City and Central Valley.
Best Market
A new Best Market supermarket opened in a former Waldbaum's on Sunrise Highway in Oakdale in November 2016.
Under Armour
Under Armour opened an outlet at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park in November 2016. The Maryland-based retailer of clothing and accessories already has an outlet, the Under Armour Factory House, in the Tanger outlet center in Riverhead.
Chick-fil-A
Georgia-based chicken chain Chick-fil-A, which has one Long Island location open already, added two more on Nov. 3, 2016, when locations in Commack and Hicksville opened for business.
Kneipp
Kneipp, a German-based retailer specializing in body care and bath products, opened its first U.S. retail location at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City on Nov. 3, 2016.
ShopRite
A new ShopRite opened Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa, the site of a former Waldbaum's supermarket.
Yankee Candle
A Yankee Candle store opened in October 2016 at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park.
Hackett London
British menswear store Hackett London is opening its first U.S. location at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City on Oct. 15, 2016.
UGG Austrailia
UGG Australia, the boot and clothing manufacturer, operates an outlet store at the Tanger Outlets in Deer Park and opened a location in Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in October 2016.
Garage
Garage, a fashion retailer for teen girls, opened at Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City in October 2016. The retailer also has a store at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove. Above, a Garage store in Miami, Fla.
The North Face
Outdoor clothing store The North Face opened its first Long Island outlet store at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead on Sept. 30, 2016.
Field & Stream
Outdoor retailer Field & Stream opened its first Long Island store on Sept. 30, 2016, in Huntington, next door to a revamped Dick's Sporting Goods.
Aldi
Discount grocer Aldi opened its sixth Long Island store in Selden on Sept. 1, 2016.
