Retirement dinner planned for IDA's Ferguson
Friends and co-workers of Bruce E. Ferguson, former executive director of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency, are organizing a dinner on Wednesday to mark his impending retirement.
The dinner will be at a Hauppauge restaurant. Ferguson leaves the IDA on Aug. 31 after nearly 30 years of service.
In May, he was compelled to resign by County Executive Steve Bellone, who successfully lobbied the IDA board to name Anthony Manetta as executive director.
Ferguson plans to open a consulting business, Ferguson Development Associates, on Sept. 1.
