Rivkin Radler acquires Albany law firm Iseman, Cunningham

Uniondale-based Rivkin Radler, the Island’s largest law firm, has acquired Iseman, Cunningham, Riester & Hyde, an Albany-based firm that focuses on health care.

Financial terms of the deal, which closes July 1, were not disclosed.

All 16 ICRH attorneys, as well as the firm’s additional staff of about 20 employees, will become part of Rivkin Radler.

Rivkin Radler will then have 180 attorneys, including 150 in its Uniondale office. It also has offices in Manhattan and New Jersey.

ICRH said it represents many hospitals and health systems throughout the state, including Catholic Health Services, a system with $2 billion in revenue, which ICRH said it has represented since CHS was created in 1997. ICRH was founded in 1991.

Health services such as CHS “have all the same legal problems as any company of that size,” said Robert H. Iseman, the founding partner at ICRH. “They also have specialized, complex regulatory problems.”

Iseman will be a partner at Rivkin Radler.

ICRH also has an office in Poughkeepsie. Its other practices include construction, data security, insurance, labor and employment, and real estate.

“We want to have an upstate presence,” said Evan Krinick, the managing partner at Rivkin Radler. “We continue to expand, and after growing in New York and New Jersey, Albany is a natural expansion for us.”

Rivkin Radler last month said it hired Jeffrey P. Rust of Garden City as a partner in the health services and corporate practice groups. He was a partner at Farrell Fritz in Uniondale.
