South Shore mall adds new stores
Several new stores will open their doors this month at the Westfield South Shore mall, as the shopping center continues its transformation and revamps its roster of tenants.
The Bay Shore mall, owned by Sydney, Australia-based Westfield Group, is adding cosmetics retailer Sephora and lingerie chain Soma Intimates, both of which will open on Nov. 8, mall officials announced.
Designer brand Michael Kors will open on Nov. 11. Fashion retailers White House | Black Market and Charlotte Russe will debut at the mall on Nov. 20. Existing tenants Victoria's Secret and Forever 21 will open newly expanded stores on Nov. 15 and Nov. 27, respectively.
The mall began a revitalization project after the demolition of the old Macy's department last year. A new 200,000-square-foot Macy's opened in August.
The mall's renovations, which cost $80 million excluding the Macy's construction, include a refurbished food court, new tiled floors and new lighting, as well as revamped restrooms, a family lounge and indoor play area.
New store openings will continue into next year.
