WalletHub helps keep track of credit scores
NAME WalletHub
WHAT Credit scores and credit reports updated daily.
HOW MUCH Free
COMPATIBLE WITH Computers (wallethub.com); iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch with iOS 8.3 or later; Android OS 4.2 or later
WHAT’S GOOD Whether you’re thinking of applying for credit or are just interested in tracking your financial viability, WalletHub provides free once-a-day access to your credit score and credit report, both updated daily. Most other sites only allow you to check your score weekly or monthly. Other features include customized credit tips, credit monitoring to warn you of identity theft and/or fraud, and personalized savings alerts. To sign up, you must provide your name, address, email address and the last four digits of your Social Security number, plus answer some security questions and provide a bit of information about your finances. No credit card is required to sign up, and since WalletHub is considered a “soft” inquiry, checking your score daily will not hurt your credit.
WHAT’S NOT WalletHub uses TransUnion for its credit report and VantageScore for the credit score. There is nothing wrong with these, but you won’t have access to reports from Equifax and Experian on WalletHub, nor can you get your FICO score here. If you must have those, there are other free sites that provide them, but most require a credit card and/or your full Social Security number. None provided free daily updates. We disliked that you must agree to allow WalletHub to share information about you with third parties as long as your WalletHub account remains active.
BOTTOM LINE A good tool to help keep your finances healthy.
