2014 Honda Odyssey: A minivan with built-in vacuum
So staid is the minivan sector that the term “world premiere,” and the excitement it connotes, is practically inapplicable to a new minivan. Even moreso when it applies to Honda, whose vehicles already border on ubiquity.
But the Japanese automaker managed to bring some buzz to the New York Auto Show last week when it unveiled its revamped 2014 Odyssey minivan. The family vehicle comes with a built-in vacuum cleaner developed in partnership with Shop-Vac that can operate whenever the engine is running and for up to eight minutes when the motor is off.
Like Toyota, Dodge, BMW and Honda’s Acura brand, all of which brought new family-focused vehicles to the show (check out our previous coverage of the trend here), Honda brought a sleeker styling to the car’s exterior and more technology to its interior.
