Q. Does the 2011 Dodge Charger or 2011 Chrysler 300 have more backseat room?
A. You'll find roughly the same amount of backseat room in the 2011 Dodge Charger as the 2011 Chrysler 300. Taller rear passengers may appreciate the 300 more because of the Chrysler's additional 1.3 inches of headroom on models without a sunroof -- 36.6 inches for the Charger compared with 37.9 inches for the 300.
The Charger has a more aggressively sloped rear roofline than the 300, though when both models are equipped with sunroofs, there's minimal difference in headroom. Otherwise, the specs tell similar stories. The two full-size sedans are built using the same platform, so it's no surprise that rear legroom and hip room dimensions are exactly the same.
Among full-size competitors to the Charger and 300, an option like the Toyota Avalon offers a larger-feeling backseat. Cars.com editor Kelsey Mays explains in his review of the 2011 Chrysler 300:
"The front seats boast impressive adjustment range and room to stretch out, but the backseat isn't up to large-car snuff. By the numbers, backseat headroom and legroom are similar to the Avalon's -- but the Toyota, in part thanks to its standard reclining rear seats, feels a lot roomier. As backseats go, the 300 is closer to the Taurus."
