Katherine A. Heptig has been appointed to the board of directors of Girls on the Run of Nassau County. The Rockville Centre resident is a corporate associate at Farrell Fritz in Uniondale concentrating in tax law. Girls on the Run is a nonprofit youth development program for girls in grades three through eight.

Maureen T. Liccione has been appointed a member of the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the Tenth Judicial District. The Brightwaters resident is a partner in the municipal and litigation practice groups at Jaspan Schlesinger in Garden City.

Dr. Lee Tessler has been appointed to the national medical advisory board of Voices Against Brain Cancer. The Port Washington resident is a neurosurgeon, executive director and co-surgical director of The Long Island Brain Tumor Center at Neurological Surgery in Lake Success.

Louis Vlahos has been installed as secretary on the Queens Chamber of Commerce's board of directors. He has served as an officer and also serves on the executive committee of the board. The Port Washington resident is a tax partner at Farrell Fritz in Uniondale.
