Joann M. Slavin has been elected to the board of directors of Carol's Cause, a Mineola-based nonprofit that raises funds for gynecologic cancer research. The Amityville resident is senior vice president and lab manager of H2M Labs in Melville.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. JoAnn Chang has joined Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island in the Lynbrook and Rockville Centre offices as a cataract, cornea and refractive surgeon. The Baldwin resident completed fellowship training at the John Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah after her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Chicago Hospital's department of ophthalmology.

Gail Holman, of Queens, joins the Locust Valley office. She was an interior designer with Holman Interior Design in Los Angeles.
Kelly West, of Selden, joins the St. James office. She held a similar position at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Setauket.
