Arts and Crafts home in East Hampton for nearly $6M
The design of this East Hampton home, on the market for $5.995 million, was inspired by the iconic Arts and Crafts movement and modern architecture.
“The owner built the house himself — he is originally from California — and was influenced by Greene and Greene Architects and Frank Lloyd Wright,” says Susan Ryan of The Corcoran Group, who is co-listing the property with Michael Schultz.
The five-bedroom house with four bathrooms and a half bath includes a guest suite with a gas fireplace. It has a similar style to that of Greene and Greene’s Gamble House, a 1908 Arts and Crafts-style house in Pasadena, California. The interior is a mix of dark mahogany wall panels and bright white modern spaces.
On the approximately 1-acre property is a covered outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven by a heated pool.
