Billy Joel sells one of two Sagaponack houses on market
Newsday has confirmed that rocker Billy Joel has sold one of the two Sagaponack homes that he put on the market last summer.
Joel’s publicist Claire Mercuri acknowledged that the deal had gone through but declined to provide further details.
Joel purchased the three-bedroom oceanfront bungalow in 2007 for $11.6 million. It was listed for sale with Biana Stepanian of The Corcoran Group for $12.5 million. Stepanian also represents Joel’s other Sagaponack property, which is still on the market for $22.5 million. That home originally cost Joel $16.75 million in 2007.
Both homes were purchased by Joel for his wife Katie Lee before the couple separated and filed for divorce.
And what’s to become of Joel’s Centre Island property that had been on and off the market for $32.5 million in recent years? Apparently Joel will be staying put for a while. “That’s his home,” Mercuri says.
