A contemporary 10-room home on Fire Island, with an asking price of $1.695 million, is believed to be the most expensive listing now on the market in the Cherry Grove community.
Listing agents Jacky Teplitzky and Christian Bastian of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate say the round lines of the home differentiate it from most modern structures, giving the house a “sensuous” feel. The home, built in 1998, is set on pilings about 7 feet above the ground. It is adjacent to the Fire Island National Seashore “with sweeping ocean to bay views.”
There are several decks, including an open roof top deck that is accessed by an outdoor spiral staircase. All the rooms open onto a balcony or deck. The living room has a 16-foot ceiling.
The house comes furnished —  oversized sofas, armoires, beds, outdoor furniture — with a few exceptions like the coffee table, ottoman, artwork and some other items with sentimental value to the homeowners.
There are five bedrooms, 4.5 baths, an eat-in kitchen, dining room and two wood-burning fireplaces, one in the master bedroom and another in the living room.
There will be a traditional “low tea” cocktail/dance party from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 1. The address is 14A Lewis Walk.
