A Gold Coast estate in Upper Brookville is on the market for $8.195 million. The annual property taxes are $95,635.

Standing tall on Chestnut Hill Drive, the house sits on five acres. It contains six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms. Although it was built in 1997, the current homeowners spent the last year renovating the 10,500-square-foot space.

Their attention to detail and passion for interior design is evident in the grand moldings, modern light fixtures and overall décor the house.

The estate is called Chateau de L'Amour and is being listed by Jared Zipes and Ellen Zipes of Compass Real Estate. It features four floors, with an in-ground pool and pool house around back. There is also a spa tub and fire pit near the pool area. The property also has a four-car garage. A wooded backyard surrounds the estate.

The main area includes the dining room and two sitting areas that can be converted into guest rooms, said Ellen Zipes. The kitchen contains marble countertops and a built-in feature to hang pots and pans.

The second floor features two wings of bedrooms. The primary bedroom has a private patio that overlooks the backyard. Quartz and marble accents can be found throughout the primary bathroom, and it has dual showers on either side.

There are finished storage rooms on the third floor, and the fourth floor is the attic. The lowest level of the house includes rooms that are currently being used as a gym, wine storage, salon and game room.

Some standout details include a three-tiered chandelier, wood-burning fireplaces (one of which includes depictions of animals on the surrounding tiles) and a sweeping spiral staircase.

The property is served by the Locust Valley Central School District.
