A wooden log home built in 1986 from a kit is on the market in Rocky Point for $579,000.
The house is made from Lincoln Logs, says listing agent Linda Albo, of the Albo Agency. "The original homeowner built it himself," says Albo. "It is quite unusual. It’s so sturdy; it’s so energy-efficient."
Lincoln Logs, based in Lake George, manufactures home kits for log and panelized homes built with eastern white pine. Other than the name, the company doesn’t appear to have any affiliation with Hasbro's Lincoln Logs, the popular children’s toy that was dreamed up just over a century ago by architect John Lloyd Wright, a son of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

The four-bedroom, 2½-bath home is located in the Rocky Point School District and has annual taxes of $12,941.
It has an expansive front porch that spans the width of the house, 3-inch-wide oak wood floors, ceiling fans throughout, and a kitchen with retro-looking appliances and a wood-burning stove. The 0.32 acre fenced-in property has an above-ground pool, wood deck and a two-car garage with a finished loft area that is heated and has been used by the current owner as a workshop, Albo says.

The home is in walking distance to shops, as well as Rocky Point State Pine Barrens Preserve and the North Shore Rail Trail. It comes with beach rights to North Shore Beach, one of the largest beaches in the area, Albo says.
"A lot of upgrades in the house were done within the last 10 years," Albo says. "It’s in move-in condition."
