Old Brookville, NY: Tuesday, May 22, 2012--- This 13-room Colonial, which is on the market for $2,595,000, was featured in the movie, Meet The Parents. Newsday / Audrey C. Tiernan Credit: Newsday/Audrey C. Tiernan

If the front exterior of the 13-room Colonial pictured below looks familiar, it may be because the house, now on the market, appeared in the 2000 comedy “Meet the Parents.”

In the film, the Old Brookville home served as the Oyster Bay residence of Jack and Dina Byrnes, played by Robert DeNiro and Blythe Danner. Though some scenes are true to the property, Hollywood worked its magic. For instance, every leaf on the magnolia tree in the front yard was pinned on for the film. Dormers were added, and the front door was made in the Hamptons.

Unaltered was the dark-paneled living room, as well as the room where Jinxy the cat tore up Pam Byrnes’ (Teri Polo) wedding dress, and the outdoor wedding of Pam and Gaylord “Greg” Focker (Ben Stiller).

The house, which is listed with Michele Barnette of Clickit Realty for $2.595 million, has since been expanded and renovated. The homeowners hired architect Peter Albinski and designer Greg Lanza. Today, the home features an open layout on the main level and six bedrooms on the second. A basement also was added.

The 3.1-acre parcel, which is next to a New York State thoroughbred farm, is landscaped with a two-room cabana and a recently renovated gunite pool and spa.
