This house in Southampton Village, operating as a bed-and-breakfast for 24 years, is on the market for $2.895 million. The property comes with a long history.

The kitchen is the oldest part of the house, says owner Elizabeth Main, proprietor of Mainstay B&B. It was built in 1814 as a general store. The building was eventually expanded into a traditional Hamptons-style home and was a family residence until 1991, says Main.

“It is very charming,” says Elise Douglas, listing agent with Cristina Matos at The Corcoran Group.

It has nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The living room and one of the guest bedrooms has a wood-burning fireplace, and it has a wood-burning stove in the eat-in kitchen.

Other features include a den, formal dining room, study, library and in-ground pool. A zoning variance could be grandfathered to the next owner, if he is interested in continuing a bed-and-breakfast business, Douglas says.
