This Stony Brook Village home was built circa 1840 by Henry Wells, a member of a seafaring and shipbuilding family. It is on the market for $579,000.

The home, which bears a plaque from the Three Village Historical Society, was down the street from a shipyard on Stony Brook Harbor, says listing agent Michael O’Dwyer of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty. “There is a lot of nautical history in the area,” O’Dwyer says.

The updated, three-bedroom Victorian has a wraparound porch and a living room with a fireplace, and there are hardwood floors and decorative moldings throughout. A deck and brick patio overlook the backyard.
