Known as Island in the Sky, this Water Mill home where a video by the late rapper, The Notorious B.I.G., was filmed is on the market for $8.495 million after a renovation that included a new kitchen.

The 12,000-square-foot home, which sits on nine acres at a 300-foot elevation, the highest point in the Hamptons, was gut-renovated by the current owner, says listing agent Susan Breitenbach of The Corcoran Group. It has a new kitchen with white glass floors, white stone counters, custom cabinets and a Wolf range, and a circular, free-standing gas fireplace.

It was designed by Japanese architect and sculptor Setsuo Ito.

After listing the property for $30 million in 2007, Ito cut the asking price and then placed it up for auction in 2011, with plans to donate some of the proceeds to support earthquake relief efforts in Japan. The property sold later that year for $3 million, according to public records.

The property was featured in The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy” video. It still has its uniquely shaped pool and 32-foot-tall steel pyramid with an observation deck that are featured in the video.

The Notorious B.I.G. was killed in a Los Angeles drive-by shooting on March 9, 1997.
