Why it’s for sale Now that the kids are in college (one daughter is shown here), Marc and Lucretia, both 54, say they would like to downsize. Marc is a speculator in commodity futures. Lucretia is an acupuncturist.
November marked the Brenners’ 20th anniversary in this Frank Lloyd Wright-style home. What attracted the couple to the area was its beauty, privacy and the Cold Spring Harbor school district, says Marc. As for the house, Marc says they liked that it was set off the road, offering even more privacy. Set on two acres, the house has two and a half bathrooms and nine rooms, including four bedrooms. Its open layout is great for entertaining, and the kitchen suits Lucretia, whom Marc says is an avid cook. Marc chats some more about the house and the property:
“We added a 700-square-foot room to the kitchen — we live in there. We put in radiant heat and since the room faces due South, it fills with sun in the winter .<EN>.<EN>. Because the house has so many windows, it brings the outside in. Our backyard abuts Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge. When the trees are bare, the yard looks like it’s 100 acres. You can see forever ... We haven’t used any chemicals on the property — it’s all naturally maintained.”
