Will LI scenes be in new JWoww and Snooki show?
Now that MTV's announced that "Jersey Shore" stars Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will indeed get their own spinoff, the question is whether footage recently shot on Long Island will make it into the show.
The scenes were done one day in late January, says L.P. Finn, director of corporate services for Coach Realtors. A production company hired Coach to show properties to Farley and Polizzi — as cameras rolled — in the Three Village area, he said.
“From my understanding, the show’s really going to be about them and their daily lives without the other cast members and focus on them as individuals ... One way to establish your individuality is to establish a residence," Finn says.
The best friends announced on their Twitter and Facebook pages in December that they were looking for a house together on Long Island, although they did not specify that their search would be fodder for another television show. Finn says his staff showed the women three houses — a starter home in East Setauket, a more expensive home in Strongs Neck and a high-end home in East Setauket.
Finn says that they liked the high-end house the best. Listing agent Linda Hickey of Hickey & Smith Realtors says that the home, which had an asking price of $1.595 million, is temporarily off the market. The five-bedroom, three-bath postmodern Colonial came with a 20-by-44-foot salt water pool, an outdoor bar and sound system, and a heated and air-conditioned pool house. It belongs to Will Castro, who customizes cars for celebrities, including "Jersey Shore" star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.
Still, the women have not gone into contract or made an offer on any of the homes they saw that day, Finn says.
While they were filming the showings, Farley stopped by the Green Cactus Grill in Stony Brook and ordered more than $200 worth of food, says Kathleen Black, an owner of the Long Island restaurant chain.
According to a permit filed with Nassau County, an untitled pilot was set to film in Franklin Square, where Farley currently lives, in late January. An employee at nearby Shackletons Restaurant & Pub says that someone from a production company called the eatery around that time asking to shoot some footage there for a new show. “He said one of the girls is from Franklin Square,” says Amy Condron, a manager. She says he never called back.
Farley has confirmed to Newsday that she and Polizzi were looking for a place to live together on Long Island and that they did see properties in Suffolk County but that they have since decided that they want to be closer to their boyfriends, who live in New Jersey. She said that they have not ruled out Nassau County, although it’s more likely she and Polizzi would buy in New Jersey.
