NPR legal correspondent Nina Totenberg will talk about her new memoir and her decadeslong friendship with the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a Long Island Litfest event at Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington on Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The event will follow the Sept. 13 release of "Dinners With Ruth: A Memoir on the Power of Friendships," in which Totenberg writes about the bond between the two women, starting in 1971 when Totenberg was a reporter for The National Observer and interviewed Ginsburg. The two became so close that in 2000, Ginsburg presided over Totenberg's wedding to her second husband, trauma surgeon H. David Reines. Conducting the interview with Totenberg will be Newsday columnist Joye Brown.

Totenberg has been a regular presence on NPR since 1975 and has appeared on many of its programs including "All Things Considered," "Morning Edition" and "Weekend Edition," as well as the NPR podcasts "The Docket" and "Politics Podcast."

Tickets are $50 and include a copy of "Dinners With Ruth." There will be a book signing. For tickets, go to cinemaartscentre.org or longislandlitfest.com.
