Alec Baldwin acknowledged he has a volatile personality that leads him to behave "unreasonably" and "childishly," the actor told Vanity Fair in the new issue's cover story.
"You know, Hollywood does draw some very strange characters, and then the power of Hollywood and what they can do with it becomes like a blood sport to them," Baldwin, 54, said.
One target in particular was TMZ.com creator Harvey Levin, who in 2007 posted a voice mail of Baldwin screaming at his teen daughter. "I wanted to stick a knife in him and gut him and kill him, and I wanted him to die breathing his last breath looking into my eyes," Baldwin said.
Baldwin, who on Saturday married yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas in Manhattan, had kinder things to say about his bride, 28, telling the magazine: "I thought, I'm probably never going to meet somebody like this again, and so I decided I would get married . . . which is kind of mind-blowing to me."
The actor -- who has been mentioned as a candidate for mayor of New York -- discussed his interest in pursuing political office.
"I think I do want to go into politics. I really, really do," he said. "And I don't know if I will," adding, "If I want to run, run for what? You have to stop and ask a lot of whys. Run for the glory? Run to complete some missing piece of myself? I can keep doing what I'm doing for a living now and be perfectly happy."
Meanwhile, Baldwin deactivated his Twitter account Monday after tweeting, "it's been fun."
Baldwin previously quit his account in December after his controversial confrontation with an American Airlines flight attendant.
