Alec and Hilaria Baldwin reveal seventh child will be girl

Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria on Monday announced that their seventh child will be a girl.

"It's always been both fun and meaningful for me to find out what is the sex of my baby, yet, as I grow and learn, I want to do it a bit differently this time around," wrote Hilaria Baldwin, 38, on Instagram, in a caption accompanying a 1½-minute video of the couple and their older children in their Amagansett home, offering epigrammatic life lessons to whom they addressed as their new daughter and sister. "What will make our baby a loving, whole person? What matters?" she went on. "What will make them feel seen, free, and proud? Perhaps nothing that we can define. We can only guide, encourage their spirit, listen, share our experiences, and learn from them, as we watch their own journey. We can provide as good a life as we can, but the rest is up to our baby to discover their own, unique self." She added, "I share with you our family's hopes and wishes, encouragement and advice for our new baby. I feel so much joy, watching these children, who are filled with love and the most simple, kind wisdom. Hearing them share their words is one of my greatest gifts in life."

Emmy Award winner Alec Baldwin, who was born in Amityville and raised in Massapequa, posted the video on his own Instagram account and wrote, "I am proud of you, my wife and family." Hilaria Baldwin in late March had announced the new pregnancy. The couple have six children aged 8 to 1. Alec Baldwin also has daughter Ireland, 26, from his first marriage to actor Kim Basinger.
