The bride's gown was accented by her children's art designs, the groom wore a borrowed tie, and the couple's six children all had roles in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's much-anticipated wedding on Aug. 23.

"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter," Pitt, 50, and Jolie, 39, told People magazine in a statement. "It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."

Jolie's floor-length ivory wedding dress, with a cinched waist and pleated bust, was topped with a large veil adorned with designs from her children's drawings, embroidered by Atelier Versace master tailor Luigi Massi.

"Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress," Jolie told People. "He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."

Their six children each contributed to the ceremony, held at the couple's Château Miraval, a 35-room, 1,100-acre wine-growing estate in Correns, France. Eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked Jolie down the aisle; daughters Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, were flower girls; and daughter Shiloh, 8, and son Knox, 6, served as ring bearers, the magazine said, adding that the children helped write their parents' vows and that Pax baked the wedding cake.

Pitt wore a suit from his existing wardrobe and, having forgotten to pack his own, borrowed a tie from one of his sons. Robert Procop, the jeweler who designed Jolie's engagement ring, also created the couple's wedding bands, People said.
