Ashton Kutcher: Keeping wedding to Mila Kunis a secret was ‘ninja effort’

Actor Ashton Kutcher formally confirmed Wednesday his long-reported marriage to actress Mila Kunis, describing the rigorous task of keeping the July ceremony a secret.
“It was a ninja effort,” he told Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show. “We really didn’t want helicopters [with paparazzi photographers] at our wedding and it’s a legitimate concern,” he said. “I was posting things on social media that were in different locations to avoid the helicopters because we didn’t want to be screaming our vows at each other and be, like, ‘Forever!’ ‘Did you say never?’ We didn’t want to do that thing, so we went really under the radar with it.”
While the couple never formally announced their marriage, Kutcher’s “Two and a Half Men” co-star, Jon Cryer, confirmed the Fourth of July-weekend wedding in an interview with the entertainment-news program “Extra” later that month.
Kutcher, 38, also opened up about his and Kunis’ 17-month-old daughter, Wyatt Isabelle, telling DeGeneres lightheartedly that during a toddler’s first year, a parent is “just trying to keep them alive.” After that point, he said, “Your job is to keep them from killing themselves. . . . Literally, she tries to kill herself on a regular basis. Like, she doesn’t realize that’s a cliff and that could be dangerous,” he said, pointing to DeGeneres’ coffee table. “And she’ll just jump off the thing. She don’t know yet. . . .”
“But you’d think,” he mused, “that they would come with instincts around fire and large falls, and they don’t. I don’t understand how prehistoric man lived. How did they, like, in the jungle not jump off waterfalls . . . ?”
But like many children, he added, “She loves dancing. She’s down with dancing. . . . I mean, if I sing, ‘The wheels on the bus go round and round,’ she loses it. That’s her thing. She just loves it when the wheels go round. We go to the playground and she gets on the little steering wheel on the playground thing, and the wheels go round. And she gets excited.”
