A TV-interview segment showing the belly of pregnant singer Beyoncé appearing to "collapse" as she was sitting down fueled an Internet rumor Tuesday that she was wearing a prosthetic and using a surrogate -- a rumor her spokeswoman bluntly shot down.

"Stupid, ridiculous and false," Beyonce's publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, told ABC News in response to reports of the speculation.

Beyoncé, 30, appearing on the Australian magazine show "Sunday Night," had walked onto the set in a knee-length red dress and was sitting down in a club chair to face the interviewer when the odd visual occurred. ABC News noted that pantyhose or Spanx rolling down at that moment could have also created that effect.

Us Weekly Tuesday also noted that in a photo the magazine posted of the singer in a white bikini on the beach in Hvar, Croatia, in early September, she was clearly pregnant.

Beyoncé, who has been married three years to hip-hop star and music producer Jay-Z, told Australian TV over the weekend that their baby is due in February.
