Eight years after their divorce, singer Britney Spears' parents appear to be reconciling.
A source told People magazine that Lynne and Jamie Spears "are back together and are doing well and happy. [They're] not remarried but back together."
The couple were spotted Saturday appearing affectionate with each other at the Los Angeles club Boudoir, a source told the website Gossip Cop, which first reported the news Monday.
The couple were cheering and dancing, added People magazine, as DJ Mr. Best played some of their daughter's dance hits, including "Toxic" and "Gimme More."
Gossip Cop said a source "close to the family" told the site that the two have been back together since the summer.
They were married in 1975 and divorced in 2002.
Lynne Spears, who has been a grade-school teacher and a daycare-center operator, is credited as co-writer of two books with Britney: the singer's biography, "Britney Spears' Heart to Heart" (2000), and the young-readers novel "A Mother's Gift" (2001).
In February 2008, Jamie Spears was appointed as his daughter's conservator, overseeing her life decisions.
The arrangement still exists as a legal formality, but according to TMZ.com, Britney has regained control over her personal and business decisions.
