Citing a new lab report, the father of actress Brittany Murphy says her death nearly four years ago, at age 32, was not accidental but the result of deliberate poisoning.

"I have a feeling that there was a definite murder situation here," Angelo Bertolotti, 87, told "Good Morning America" Tuesday. "It's poison; yes, I know that."

A report Bertolotti commissioned with the Colorado laboratory The Carlson Company, first reported by Examiner.com and reviewed by ABC News, said testing of a hair sample revealed 10 heavy metals higher than World Health Organization-recommended levels. "If we were to eliminate the possibility of a simultaneous accidental heavy metals exposure to the sample donor," the report said, "then the only logical explanation would be an exposure to these metals (toxins) administered by a third party perpetrator with likely criminal intent."

Bertolotti told TheWrap.com Tuesday that he sent the lab report on Friday to the Los Angeles coroner's office, which had ruled the "Clueless" co-star and "King of the Hill" voice actress died of pneumonia, anemia and prescription drug intoxication. The coroner's office told ABC News in a statement that it had not seen the new lab results, adding, "We stand by what we ruled on the case."

L.A. Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey told TheWrap.com of the new report, "If there were concerns, you'd think [Bertolotti] would go back to the source and ask us to take a look at it, rather than release it directly to the media." Until his office sees the report, he said, there are no plans to reopen the investigation.
