U2's Adam Clayton credits Eric Clapton for his decision to seek treatment for alcohol addiction. He said he turned to Clapton for guidance in November 1993 after missing a show in Sydney because he has been too intoxicated to perform.
Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck revealed in a Facebook post Tuesday, March 14, 2017, that he had completed a rehab stint for alcohol addiction. The "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star has been to rehab before: In 2001, he checked himself into Promises Malibu, also to treat for alcohol abuse, with the help of friend Charlie Sheen, who was once a patient there and was three years sober at the time.
Ozzy Osbourne
After decades of struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, rocker Ozzy Osbourne admits he's now been sober for more than a year. Though, in May 2016, Ozzy Osbourne's representative revealed he received treatment for sex addiction, which he allegedly suffered from for six years prior to treatment.
Conrad Hilton
Conrad Hilton, left, son of Kathy and Rick Hilton, and brother to socialite Paris Hilton, was ordered to undergo a residential substance abuse treatment program for at least 90 days. A judge in Los Angeles made the order Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, after Hilton, 21, failed drug tests and violated probation that was handed down in 2015, after he pleaded guilty to disrupting a British Airways flight.
Jon Hamm
"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm completed a 30-day treatment program for alcohol abuse at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Conn. According to reports, Hamm entered the facility at the end of February 2015.
Elizabeth Vargas
ABC News reported that their anchor Elizabeth Vargas was undergoing treatment for alcoholism in November 2013. She completed treatment and in 2014, after her second rehab admission, she described herself as an alcoholic.
Selena Gomez
A representative for Selena Gomez revealed on Feb. 5, 2014 that the singer/actress "voluntarily" spent time at The Meadows rehabilitation facility in Arizona, "but not for substance abuse." Gomez had canceled the Australian leg of her "Stars Dance" world tour in December 2013, saying, "I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
Dean McDermott
In January 2014, Dean McDermott gave a statement to People magazine saying he had voluntarily checked into rehab to seek treatment. This came after reports surfaced that he was being treated for sex addiction after he allegedly cheated on his wife, Tori Spelling.
Chris Brown
On Oct. 29, 2013, a representative for Chris Brown announced the star had checked into an undisclosed rehab facility to "gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point." Two days earlier, the singer had been arrested and jailed for allegedly punching another man outside The W hotel in Washington.
Zac Efron
In 2014, Zac Efron appeared on NBC's "Running Wild With Bear Grylls" where he discussed his addictions and how he felt the need for a "social lubricant." The actor checked into rehab in 2013, completed a five-month treatment program, reportedly for alcohol and cocaine use.
Demi Lovato
The former "X Factor" judge and former Disney star Demi Lovato, seen in 2010, spent three months in rehab late that year. Lovato has been candid about her struggles with drugs, an eating disorder and a past that included cutting herself.
Lindsay Lohan
Long Island native Lindsay Lohan's reported rehab stints include stays at Los Angeles' Wonderland Center and Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Treatment Facility and a "lockdown rehab" at Seafield Center in Westhampton after a judge ordered her to go on March 18, 2013.
Cory Monteith
"Glee" actor Cory Monteith voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation facility for substance abuse on March 31, 2013. He went to rehab once before, at age 19. Less than three months after seeking treatment, Monteith died of a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13.
Amy Winehouse
Though she proclaims "They tried to make me go to rehab, and I said 'No, no, no'" in her Grammy-winning hit, the singer checked in twice, in 2008 and 2011. She died from alcohol poisoning not long after the second stint, at age 27.
Steven Tyler
Aerosmith lead singer and former "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler has done eight stints in rehab, despite 20 years of sobriety starting in the mid-'80s. Recently he estimated he spent $5 to $6 million on drugs in the 1970s and '80s -- not $20 million, as written in his 2011 memoir.
Daniel Baldwin
Daniel Baldwin did nine stints in rehab for a cocaine addiction before appearing on the first season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" in 2008.

In 2006, shortly after marrying Nicole Kidman and long before he became an "American Idol" judge, country singer Keith Urban checked into rehab for alcohol abuse. Previously, he had overcome a cocaine addiction that plagued him through the '90s.

Eva Mendes checked into Utah's Cirque Lodge in early 2008 for "personal issues." She told reporters at Cannes Film Festival the year before that to feel comfortable in a sex scene for the film "We Own the Night," she required a drink.
