Dan Haggerty dead; ‘Grizzly Adams’ actor had cancer, was 74, reports say
Dan Haggerty, the actor who played Grizzly Adams on the ‘70s-era TV show “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams,” has died at age 74, TMZ and other news outlets are reporting.
Haggerty had battled cancer that was diagnosed only months ago after he had back surgery, according to TMZ, which broke news of his death Friday morning.
The actor was best known for playing Grizzly Adams, the beloved mountain man whose best friend was a grizzly bear. The series ran for two seasons, from 1977 to 1978.
Haggerty also appeared on “Charlie’s Angels” and reprised his Grizzly Adams role in movies.
