David Letterman nearly unrecognizable with scruffy, white beard

David Letterman is nearly unrecognizable, with his scruffy beard during a morning workout on Tuesday around the Caribbean island of St. Barts.

The retired host, who said goodbye to his late-night talk show, "Late Show with David Letterman," in May 2015, was all smiles sans his signature head of blond hair and glasses.

His new look, however, isn't so new. In September, Letterman was spotted in Manhattan with the same bushy white facial hair and glasses.

“Everybody hates it,” Letterman told the Whitefish Review in December. “My wife hates it. My son hates it. But it’s interesting. I’ve kind of developed a real creepy look with it that I’m sort of enjoying. And I can tell that people are off-put by it. And the more people implore me to shave, the stronger my resolve is to not shave."
