Fashion designer Vera Wang, well-known for her wedding gowns for the rich and famous, is separating from her husband of 23 years, businessman Arthur Becker.
Her company's president, Mario Grauso, said in a statement to WWD Wednesday, "Vera Wang and Arthur Becker have mutually and amicably agreed to separate. They remain devoted parents to their two daughters," Cecilia and Josephine.
The couple were wed at Manhattan's The Pierre hotel in 1989. Becker was a stockbroker at Bear Stearns while Wang was design director for Ralph Lauren women's accessories and at-home wear. Becker advised Wang closely when she opened a salon at The Carlyle hotel in 1990, said WWD. Though having his own, unrelated business concerns, Becker continued advising Wang as her company grew into an international, multimillion-dollar brand.
Wang notably designed Kim Kardashian's three gowns for her 2011 nuptials to Kris Humphries as well as her sister Khloé's dress for her 2009 wedding to Lamar Odom.
