Officials: Dina Lohan facing DWI charge after Nassau crash

Dina Lohan, the mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, is facing a slew of charges after allegedly crashing into another car while driving under the influence at the Merrick Mall on Saturday night and then fleeing the scene, court records show.

The elder Lohan, 57, who pleaded guilty in 2014 to driving while intoxicated, crashed her Mercedes-Benz into the car about 6:20 p.m. and then drove away, the records show.

The other driver called 911 and followed Lohan back to her North Merrick home. There, a Nassau County police officer approached Lohan in her car. The officer stated in a deposition that her eyes were bloodshot, her speech was slurred and her breath smelled of alcohol.

Lohan stepped out of her car and "fell to the ground on her face," according to the complaint, before accusing the officer of pushing her.

"Defendant also stated that she had one glass of wine," prosecutors wrote in the complaint.

Lohan's charges include felony driving while intoxicated within 10 years of a prior DWI conviction, leaving the scene of an incident and driving an unregistered, uninspected vehicle without a license, prosecutors said.

She was arraigned Sunday in Nassau First District Court in Hempstead. 

Mark Jay Heller, Lohan's attorney, said she pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released.

"We are going to vigorously oppose those allegations when we go to court," he said, noting that she did not take a sobriety test. The complaint states she refused to do so.

Heller said Dina Lohan is due back in court Wednesday.

She was previously charged with DWI in September 2013 after driving a white BMW 77 mph in a 55-mph zone on the Northern State Parkway with a blood alcohol content of .20.

"I'll never be back here again," she told Newsday after pleading guilty in April 2014. "You can quote me on that."

At Lohan's June 2014 sentencing, she said to a judge "there won't be a next time" when he suspended her driver's license and ordered her to pay a $2,600 fine.
