Elin Nordegren breaks silence on Tiger Woods

Elin Nordegren has broken her more than four-year silence about her ex-husband, golf champion Tiger Woods, following the breakup of their marriage in 2009 after revelations about his infidelities.

"I have moved on and I am in a good place," Nordegren says in the issue of People magazine being published Friday. "My relationship with Tiger is centered around our children and we are doing really good -- we really are -- and I am so happy that is the case. He is a great father."

Nordegren and Woods, parents of daughter Sam, 6, and son Charlie, 5, live a 25-minute drive apart in southern Florida. The two married in October 2004 and finalized their divorce in August 2010, splitting up due to a cheating scandal that emerged after Woods crashed his SUV into a neighbor's tree on Nov. 27, 2009, with an enraged Nordegren nearby.

From her experience as a child of divorced parents herself, she always believed she and Woods would reach a mature understanding, Nordegren, 34, told the magazine. "In the beginning, you tamp down the animosity for the kids' sake," adding, "I'm not going to deny that I went through the wringer. But I don't think I doubted we'd end up here. That was always my dream, that the kids can have two loving parents [who] show respect for each other. And I feel that's what they have."

Woods, 38, has moved on with alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn, 29. "I'm happy for Tiger," Nordegren told People. "In general, in any kind of stepparent relationship, I'm happy that there's somebody else loving my children."

Nordegren is currently dating 55-year-old coal magnate Chris Cline.
