Emma Watson investigated over alleged illegal housekeeper, report says

"Harry Potter" film-series star Emma Watson, who graduated from Brown University in May, is at the center of an investigation by British immigration officials over whether her American housekeeper was working illegally for her in England.
The UK newspaper The Independent reported that Border Agency officials received a complaint that the unidentified housekeeper had been paid for work in the London borough of Islington, where the British-raised Watson, 24, has a house. The Home Office, which oversees the Border Agency, told the newspaper it does not "routinely comment on individual cases."
At issue is whether the domestic, who reportedly spent three months in the UK between September 2013 and February 2014, was working in the country despite having only a tourist visa. The paper said civil penalties of up to 10,000 pounds (over $17,000) per worker can be imposed on employers who are found to have breached immigration guidelines.
Watson's London and Los Angeles representatives did not respond to Newsday requests for comment.
