Guy Pearce, Carice van Houten welcome first child

“Memento” star Guy Pearce and his “Game of Thrones” girlfriend, Carice van Houten, have welcomed their first child.

“A cute little package arrived and told us his name’s Monte Pearce,” the actor, 48, an Emmy Award winner for the 2011 miniseries “Mildred Pierce,” tweeted Monday. “We think we’re gonna keep him. Placenta smoothie anyone?”

Van Houten, 39, who plays Melisandre on HBO’s epic-fantasy series, retweeted the missive with a collection of emojis including a baby face, a roller coaster, a chick emerging from an egg, and a heart. On July 13 she had tweeted a photo of her very pregnant self standing sideways before a mirror. “Almost don’t fit the mirror anymore,” she wrote.

Pearce, who recently starred in the Australian miniseries “Jack Irish,” appears opposite van Houten, Dakota Fanning and “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington in the upcoming Western thriller “Brimstone.”
