“Scream Queens” actress and former “Glee” star Lea Michele and her boyfriend Matthew Paetz have broken up.

A representative for Michele, 29, confirmed the split Monday to People magazine, which said the breakup occurred earlier this month.

Neither has commented on social media, though Paetz on Saturday tweeted a text image of a passage reading, “the life you want has / always been chasing you, / it was and always has / been you who ran away.” It is attributed to “Annice,” but the quote — which appears on a small handful of Instagram and similar sites — does not appear to be that of a particular person by that name.

Michele reportedly met Paetz, 30, when he was an extra on the set of her music video for “On My Way,” filmed in Palmdale, California, on April 19, 2014. The relationship marked her first since the passing of “Glee” castmate and boyfriend Cory Monteith, who died of a drug overdose in July 2013.

As recently as a Jan. 5 podcast at Ladygang, co-hosted by Michele’s friend Becca Tobin, she extolled Paetz, saying that, “This industry is really tough and the only way to get through is to create a solid unit. And that’s really what we have been since day one. We’ve stood by each other through anything that was thrown our way, and he’s a such a great man that he would never really let anything like that ever crack our lovely little core that we’ve created. And, you know, he also is very respectful for the person that I was with, and that, again, is something that I love so much about him. And I really know that Cory would love him, too.”
