Lindsay Lohan filming Esurance commercial, report says

Actress Lindsay Lohan, who has experienced several traffic incidents, reportedly is shooting a TV commercial for Esurance, a division of Allstate that specializes in car insurance.

TMZ.com said Sunday that Lohan, 28, originally of Merrick and Cold Spring Harbor, was filming the commercial in Long Beach, California. The site speculated that the spot might run during the Super Bowl, a traditional venue for introducing high-profile commercials.

An Esurance representative did not respond to a Newsday request for comment. A representative for Lohan could not be reached.

Lohan has had several widely publicized auto incidents. In early 2005, she was sued by a couple who claimed she had struck their vehicle in Studio City, California, in August 2004. In May 2005, a Los Angeles accident involving her Mercedes-Benz and a car driven by photographer Galo Cesar Ramirez prompted passage of a state law addressing paparazzi who harass subjects. That October, Lohan was treated at a hospital for minor injuries after colliding with a Chevrolet Astro van in West Hollywood.

In 2007, after a two-mile, high-speed chase in Santa Monica, California, Lohan was charged with driving under the influence and eventually settled lawsuits filed by three passengers in the car she had commandeered and by a woman in the car she had pursued.

An incident in March 2012, in which Lohan allegedly brushed a man's knee with her Porsche in Los Angeles, resulted in no injury and no report being filed for what an LAPD spokesman called "a very minor case." That September, she was given a desk appearance ticket and released after a similar incident in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.

Her most serious accident was on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica in June 2012, in which she was treated at a hospital after the crash of a tractor trailer and the Porsche she was driving.
